About Lancaster City Housing Authority

We provide affordable housing to eligible single persons, couples and families within the city of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The Lancaster City Housing Authority (LCHA) owns and operates 564 public housing units which consist of 259 family units and 305 elderly units set in 6 public housing developments: Susquehanna Court, Franklin Terrace, Church Street Towers, Farnum Street East, and Scattered Sites I & II.

This housing is provided through the conventional Public Housing Program and the various Section 8 Assisted Housing (Housing Choice Voucher) programs.


Mission Statement

Our primary mission is, of course, to provide affordable housing to eligible families and individuals.

But we do so much more. And all that we do accomplish would not be possible without the skill and dedication of our professional staff here at the LCHA. They ensure that year after year nearly 1,500 families in Lancaster City receive decent, affordable housing and a host of high quality self-sufficiency programming.
